My breakthrough in writing came with the publication of my first children’s story-book “Daisy and the Flower seller” that was also translated into Afrikaans, “Moederlief en die Blommeverkoper”.
My sister drew the illustrations for the ante-natal booklet I published and used for Lamaze classes called “Childbirth Education is Fun”. Consulting for Kimberly-Clark I wrote their advertising editorials and free hand-out booklets for mothers as well as young girls starting their periods. Currently I am their health-professional consultant and answer questions about periods under the heading: “Ask Sister Burgie”
For a few years I was the editor of “Health and Hygiene” – a magazine for nurses.
I have written as a freelance writer for the past 20 years, mainly for Your Pregnancy and Your Baby magazines. Other writing includes publications for:
